If you want some real specific shit, rather than big picture, that my dad helped me with pick up and game wise I got a couple.

Forget the teen thing, I am assuming your kid is younger, not a teen already, took you for like 25 or 30.

My dad died when I was 7 years old, but did shape me a couple ways that I can now see.

A: I had NO approach anxiety etc when I started in the game. Right off I wasn't told to have it by the scene because there wasn't scene lol. But also my dad always when I was really small, I remember the panic,fear and rush, would make me order my own food, and ask my own questions about new toys coming in (series of action figures etc) or if there was an arcade in a casino etc.

He always pushed me socially that way and I think it may have helped me a lot later in life when I decided to talk to random women.

B: In dealing with other men he helped me a LOT in teaching me Tae Kwon Do and Ninjitsu (yeah yeah I know people, but at that age the hand eye and timing is a good tool anyway) and mostly SPARRING with me, fairly hard (to me at the time anyway), even as a small boy. Again I remember anxiety and rush before those sessions the first dozen times or so. Now even large tall men don't seem scary to me dominance or violence wise. Edit: I kinda got conditioned to fight with a giant lol. While not practical and workable of course in a real throw down, ya can get hurt and all of course, socially ya don't fear men and it comes across well to women.

Usually I do Bonus shows on Friday, which would make it an extra show for that given week.
This bonus show we'll have Bruce in studio, which is the only day he can come, and he can add a lot to this show. So, that would mean that I owe all of you a regular show...'cause all bonus shows mean a "5 Show Week". Therefore I opted to do the 5th show this week, 'cause my schedule really allows for it...my job right now, with the hours is pretty erratic, so I thought doing a 5 show week this weeks would make the most sense.

Being a pick up artist itself isn't an oxymoron, it is just a strategy to get laid outside of social circles. But scene wise there are of course these lairs, guys living together, giving people cardboard trophies for "pua of the year", and hanging out all the time (with people they have nothing in common with except desperation) who don't get laid. I would more call these guys "scenesters" than pick up artists.

Gun i know what your talking about except my dad was out all the time until iwas 10, and at that age i still felt that flash of fear ordering food, pretty pathetic i was really socially anxious back then. I never did that until he was back around. Plus i was in all different types of day care a hell of alot.
My dad dident really raise me, apparently he said he acted like this on purpose, he told me he dident want to give me any morale values as they would hold me back in the world. Now i think back on it, its pretty fucking wierd.

In day care i used to sit by myself while the other kids played outside, they wouldent let me out because i had a phobia of sun cream and refused to wear any, so pretty much i spent hours at a table sat by myself every day.

Honnestly I think the way a kid is raised has alot of impact on them, nurture > nature in my opinion.

I have to agree, I think that we're all pretty much born with the same potential (there are exceptions), and the difference between adults come from the way they were raised, their social conditioning, their friends, repetitive exposure to good/bad things so that you get used to them and ajust your moral compas, ...

Yeah for a short space of time as a kid i was loud and always smiled and was happy. Then when i was seven i had a really bad experience which fucked me up, for the first two years after that i just sat in a corner on the playground everday not talking to anyone.

The only benefit from this is, being alone was never a big deal to me, i remember getting in trouble for shit occasionly and being punished with any kind of isolation was no form of punishment.

I feel naturally i was an intorvert perhaps, but situational factors played a much bigger role. Saying this you can change your situational factors and therefore change yourself out of old habits, but i feel childhood experiences play a big role in shapping your personality.
